Etc. galerie
Etc. gallery was opened on 1 October 2004. Its programme has been created by the couple of artists Jiří Skála and Jiří Franta. Until last year the gallery was situated in Jaromírova Street in Nusle, Prague and it was a part of the graphic studio Drawetc.
The gallery area was laid open to public directly from the street and its floorage ran to 15 square metres. In 2007 the gallery started to look for a new space. The patronage of the studio Drawetc will continue even though the new gallery area is not in its place.
Drawetc attends to the financial background, it pays the rent, the advancements on energy or it helps to support the exhibitions and vernissages. The dramaturgy is performed on without charge.
The exhibiton programme of the gallery is focused on the experiment with the art media and the intense individual evidence. Etc. gallery is concretely focusing on the presentation of the young artists who have not held their own exhibition yet and who need to gain experience with the specific exhibiton space. The gallery is also engaged in the interesting projects made by the renowned artists. So it has already introduced a lot of young artists, the students of the art universities, as well as the noted authors, for example Tomáš Vaněk and Michal Pěchouček ( the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize laureates in 2001 and 2003) and also several artists living abroad.
